Are you trying to be healthy and lose weight? If you are finding it hard, it could be because you don't realize that you are actually eating unhealthy and fat storing food. Here are 10 foods that you might think are healthy, but are actually the total opposite.
Breakfast cereals. 99% of cereals are unhealthy, the only health ones are the ones with only a few ingredients. Most cereals nowadays are packed with sugar and salt. They have been processed down to a very low nutritional value. The vitamins and minerals they contain are usually made from chemicals that are artificially added. If you are serious about fat loss check the ingredients on your cereal box, if it has sugar, corn syrup or anything that doesn't sound natural, bin it.
Bread. Even if you are eating 100% wholemeal it can still be bad for you and you fat loss efforts. A lot of bread contains corn syrup and trans fats, these will make you fat. Don't go anywhere near white bread, it contains no nutritional value and is practically sugar to your body, it will be stored as fat straight away. Also white bread will digest quickly, it won't satisfy you for long and then you will feel hungry again.
Fruit juice. Unless it says on the ingredients 100% juice and nothing else you can eat it. However, most fruit juices contain high amounts of sugar. Too much sugar will cause excess fat, poor health and blood sugar problems, which could lead to diabetes.
Sports drinks. They say they are great for after workouts, but in actual fact they are just sugar and water mixed together. This will not help you lose fat and will sabotage all the work you have done in your workout.
Diet soda. You would be better off by drinking the normal soda, even though it is packed with sugar and calories, it will still be better than diet soda. Diet soda contains artificial sweeteners, such as aspartame. Aspartame wasn't even supposed to be allowed on to the market because of it's deadly side effects, such as many diseases, obesity and health risks.
Granola bars. These bars claim to be healthy snacks that will help you with your fat loss. They do contain healthy oats and wheat, but blood sugar raising corn syrup is used to glue the healthy bits together. Many bars contain chocolate chips or icing which makes them as bad as eating a chocolate bar.
Fat free yoghurt. They use the fat free label to cover up the fact that they have added sugar, corn syrup and artificial sweeteners. So the next time you see a yoghurt claiming to be fat free and healthy, read the ingredients, you'll be surprised.
Always read the ingredients most of the time you will find that what you thought was healthy is actually very bad for your health and fat loss. The best food to eat is food that is as close to it's natural origin, for example an apple comes straight off a tree, where as apple pie has been processed in between.
